Striker (1975) & Striker: The Second Leg
Starring Kevin Moreton
This is another one of the "Holy Grail" titles for me. My research on the web makes me fear it may be lost forever. Other blogs have mentioned that in the old days, some networks simply taped over some shows to record new ones on the same tapes since the tapes were expensive. They fear that may be the fate of this one, so if there is a copy out there somewhere, it's because someone recorded it off of television. I am holding out a small glimmer of hope if finding this one in any condition. It would truly make my decade if someone could come across with a watchable copy. I call on our friends in the UK to stand and deliver on this one.
Sorry I can't provide any significant details on the series other than to say it has Kevin Moreton and that was enough for me. I really would like to see it. I am indeed jealous of the ones who remember it fondly and would like to see why they think it's so special.

Alas I knew one of the people involved in the making of this production, he tells me even he could not get hold of a copy. As you say, these productions were most likely preserved on video tape which was then very expensive so recycled for another programme.
'Sam and the River' (with Simon West) is another production from that era I would love to see but it has never resurfaced, possibly for the same reason.
Oh and Kevin Moreton apparently could not kick a ball for toffee!
Do sit down. Shocks are so much better absorbed with the knees bent.
